Do you know when the schedule for December will be posted? I am looking for a 5k race in Brooklyn to take a group of kids I will be training for their first race.
Knowing my own time constraints, a full schedule will likely be up in November. That said, let me look around. The 5Ks in Prospect Park tend to be held earlier in the year, but undoubtedly there's one I'm not thinking about that would be appropriate.
The Turkey Trot, a 5 miler, is held on Thanksgiving in Prospect Park. It's sponsored by the Prospect Park Track Club (http://www.pptc.org).
