Brooklyn Half is Closed

Just a quick update: registration for the Brooklyn Half is now closed, NYRR site says.

This hopefully didn't sneak up on too many people ... a lot of the races seems to be closing earlier and earlier, which means you need to make your race decisions earlier and earlier.

I'm pretty upset about this one. No notice until a few hours before and then CLOSED. If it was a few days till closed, it would have been ok. I guess i should have checked their website every few hours everyday? dumb.

this could have been handled better

Doesn't the NYRR usually post alerts on their site when the race is filling up and almost full? I'm registered, but I guess my husband's not running it, since he hadn't registered yet.

I am also really frustrated with how this one was handled. I'm a NYRR member and I had no idea it was even open, let alone closed already. What a letdown.
