88 Degrees of Separation

Eighty-eight friggin' degrees in the first week of October in Chicago. Can't imagine what it was like to try to race (we'll try to get some race feedback from some of the runners). At the Bed-Stuy 10K, it was "only" 82 degrees and felt a lot hotter - a reasonably flat course made that much tougher by the lack of shade along most of the way.

We'll post top Brooklyn finishers from Chicago, as well as results from some the local races as soon as they are available.

I was in the Bed Stuy 10k and it felt more like 90 than 82 out there in the sun, Prospect Pk has the trees and the lake but those streets had no shade or breeze. I finished in 57 minutes because of tactical errors and improper hydration, I was going for a 48 minute finish and was glad to just finish.

It was a tough day out there, I agree - reminded me a bit of the Bronx Half when it was run in the summer - wide open streets, little shade except for the buildings. Looking forward to some cooler weather this weekend with the Staten Island Half.
