Lots ... and I mean lots ... of speculation racing around about when the Brooklyn Half registration will open. Are the permits in place? Will the course change? Will the (and dare I ask this question) date change?
The latest questions center around "Googa Mooga" - a two day food/band festival taking place the same weekend. Could that interfere? (One wouldn't think so ...)
The latest from NYRR (in response to the daily queries on its Facebook page):
"We still have no update on Brooklyn Half registration. We know you are all anxious to apply, so please be patient."
Hey, maybe it'll become a 10K like Queens ...

Woah, I'd love to hear the story behind Queens changing to a 10k. And what happened to the NYRR facebook page? I don't really use facebook, but I do periodically love to peek in on the train wreck that is their facebook comments. I can't find it now.
Plus I see no link to facebook from the NYRR web site, not that I'm able to find anything else there. :)
If you go to Facebook and search for NYRR, the page should come up.
Oh, I did find it, but no postings. I guess I have to "like" it to see the wall/posts there? I don't like the NYRR. :)
Oh man, I'd flip if they turned it into a 10k. There are 3 races a year that are in Brooklyn (excluding the marathon) Two are 4M races in Prospect Park, I would be so, so sad to see this go away. I wouldn't mind if they moved the date up/back a week to accommodate another event in the park, but seriously hope they leave it as a half marathon.
