Eleven Brooklyn men broke 5:00 at today's Fifth Avenue Mile, led by 33-year-old Brett Albright, who dashed the distance in 4:47. Anna Fyodorova ran the fastest time among Brooklyn women, clocking a 5:38.
Of note: Noel Haynes, 61, a member of Brooklyn Road Runners, ran a 5:31. Abraham Weintraub, at 97, the oldest competitor in the field, ran an 18:49. And Kieran Newcomb, 14, won his age group with a blazing 4:57. Yowsa!
